Public Policy Statements
Clergy Care Collective believes the Church has a sacred duty to speak out for justice and the dignity of every human being. Guided by the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching, we take clear stands on issues affecting mental health, disability, and the holistic well-being of those we serve.
We support:
Raising SSI benefits and eliminating the restrictive asset limits that keep disabled people in poverty.
Expanding access to affordable, high-quality mental health care.
Strengthening protections against discrimination in housing, employment, and education for disabled and neurodivergent individuals.
Ending the death penalty, in keeping with the sanctity of human life.
Increasing funding for programs supporting clergy mental health and pastoral care training.
Building stronger social safety nets that uplift the poor and marginalized.
We advocate respectfully, but firmly, with policymakers, faith leaders, and the public. We invite you to join us in prayer, dialogue, and action to advance policies rooted in justice, mercy, and love.
